OTAs (booking platforms) and delisting
OTA (платформы бронирования) и делистинг · Online Travel Agencies (Airbnb, Booking.com)
An OTA (Online Travel Agency) is where the guest finds and pays for the villa. Airbnb charges the host ~3% plus a guest service fee (or 14–16% host-only), and Booking.com takes 15–18% from the host. In Bali the vast majority of nightly bookings come via OTAs, while direct sales are repeat guests and long stays.
The 2026 delisting. Since 31 March platforms remove listings without the permit package, and since 1 August they also do so from tourism-ministry lists (about 1,600 properties in the first wave, Bali among five priority destinations). They check for an NIB, the right KBLI and an NKU registration number. The article explains how the mechanism works, what the platform checks and how to restore a listing.
A 4.8+ rating and Guest Favourite status on Airbnb are a listing's main asset, because the algorithm ranks by them rather than by price. Delivered DOMA-partner villas hold 4,000+ reviews combined.
