Second Home Visa (E33)

Second Home Visa (E33) · Second Home Visa (E33)

In one sentence. A 5- or 10-year long-stay visa for those who prove funds with a deposit of about IDR 2 billion (~$125k) in an Indonesian state bank or property ownership of that value. It gives no right to work.

The Second Home Visa (index E33) was introduced in late 2022 for affluent foreigners and retirees. The condition is proof of funds, either a deposit from IDR 2 billion (~$125k at 2026 rates) in an Indonesian state bank for the visa term, or documented ownership of property at or above the threshold (in practice titled property, so for a leasehold confirm with an immigration adviser). It grants a KITAS for 5 or 10 years, covers spouse and children, and excludes employment.

For a villa owner it is the most accessible "live in Bali" route, with a lower threshold than the Golden Visa and no company needed. The downsides are that the deposit is locked and 183+ days makes you tax resident (worldwide income).
