NIB (business identification number)

NIB (Nomor Induk Berusaha) is the registration number OSS assigns to a sole trader or company. It doubles as the registration certificate, importer number and the basis for licences. KBLI activity codes hang off the NIB, and those are what platforms and the tax office check.

Two roles in a deal. Vetting the developer/contractor. The company must have an NIB with a construction code, and the OSS record shows registration date and status. Legal rental. Since 1 August 2026 Airbnb and Booking delist properties without an NIB and KBLI 55193 on the tourism ministry's lists, about 1,600 properties in the first wave, with Bali among five priority destinations.

For a foreign individual on a leasehold, the rental NIB is usually held by a licensed management company that includes the villa in its licence package. A PT PMA of your own has not been registrable for this in Bali since 2026.
