LP2B (protected food-crop land)

LP2B (защищённые продовольственные земли) · Lahan Pertanian Pangan Berkelanjutan

In one sentence. A status for land permanently reserved for food production under Law 41/2009. Conversion to development is prohibited, and in Bali it carries criminal liability.

LP2B (Lahan Pertanian Pangan Berkelanjutan) is the category of land the state reserves for agriculture permanently under Law No. 41/2009. LP2B plots are fixed in the regency RTRW and cannot be converted to housing or tourism, save for exceptional state projects with like-for-like land compensation.

In Bali this is above all the subak rice-terrace system, part of the landscape recognised by UNESCO in 2012. Perda No. 4/2026 added criminal sanctions and froze conversion permits.

If the plot or part of it is LP2B, a buyer can obtain neither a KKPR nor a PBG. Check on the Gianyar regency RTRW map and by enquiry to the agriculture office, since the seller will rarely volunteer it.
